Which makes sense given that Aegon conquered the 7k, without an actual army. United by fealty, due to the central authority lack of true power. Westeros looks more like a medieval weak monarchy. True, but to me the lack of a central army, powerful enough to put down local rebellions against the crown, call it imperial army or whatever, it´s a strong argument against labeling Westeros as an Empire. First medieval European empire (Carolingian Empire under Charlemagne) was feudal, as were many later ones. ![]() Empire and feudalism are not mutually exclusive. ![]()
